Why Turtles?

Guardians of the Ocean

Sea turtles are crucial for maintaining the health of our oceans. As one of the ocean's most vital creatures, their presence helps to keep the health of seagrass beds and coral reefs, essential for other marine lives.

  • Keystone Species

Turtles play a pivotal role in marine ecosystems, acting as one of the largest animals in their habitat. Their activities are crucial for the maintenance and health of marine environments.

  • Ecosystem Engineers

By feeding on seagrass, turtles help maintain healthy seagrass beds, which are essential for carbon sequestration and providing habitat for other marine life.

  • Population Control

Turtles contribute to controlling the population of their prey, ensuring a balanced ecosystem. This balance is vital for the health of marine habitats.

  • Bio-Transporters

They play a significant role in spreading organisms across vast distances. This movement aids in the distribution of essential nutrients and the connectivity of marine ecosystems.

Our Mission

Beach Cleanups: A Wave of Change

Our beach cleanups are at the heart of Turtl Project's mission, directly confronting the plastic crisis suffocating our oceans. With an estimated 17 billion pounds of plastic dumped into the ocean annually, the need for action has never been more urgent.

Each Turtl wetsuit sold is a step towards cleaner oceans, as we pledge to remove 2 lbs of marine plastic, directly supporting both beach and ocean cleanup efforts.

Join us in our commitment to a cleaner, greener future, where every purchase and every cleanup effort brings us closer to oceans free of plastic.

Wetsuit Recovery Program: A Step Towards Ocean Conservation

With millions of wetsuits ending up in landfills, releasing harmful chemicals and contributing to the plastic crisis, we offer a sustainable solution.

We invite businesses worldwide and individual water sports in Barcelona (but soon in other areas of the world) to donate their old neoprene wetsuits.

For every wetsuit we recover, we prolong its life, reducing waste and supporting our beach cleanups and ocean conservation efforts. This circular approach underlines our commitment to a healthier planet, turning potential waste into resources that fuel our mission to clean the oceans.

Join us in making a difference; reach out to donate your wetsuit and be a part of our journey towards a cleaner, greener future.
